Christmas lights

Thought I'd better get these up before it's New Years! So much to share in pictures and words from our wrap up of 2010, but it'll have to wait as we just rolled into town from our Illinois and Wisconsin adventures... and Brian and I plan to relax a little in the final hours of the year.
Here are a couple shots of Ellie helping decorate with Christmas lights at our house. Maybe we won't have to worry as much about her getting into dangerous stuff in 2011... but something tells me that's not the case!

Why I blog... (by Dorothy)

For many years, "blog" was a dirty word to me. I didn't follow blogs and I never imagined myself writing one.
But that changed in 2009 when I got pregnant and wanted an easy way to keep my family and friends posted on my progress. When Ellie arrived in August, the blog became a great way for me to share pictures and stories — which I know the grandparents and others eat up!
But recently I realized that the blog is important for me, too. It's become an obligation, but not in a bad way. Even when I'm feeling busy and stressed, I enjoy carving out some time every day or two to think about what's new with Ellie and our family. Some of the posts are silly, others are serious. But I already enjoy looking back at the memories recorded here. Thanks for joining us for this crazy ride!
